The Gimp vs Photo Shop

Photo art is extremely popular s it is used for many purposes such s for designing web sites, illustrating books, preparing presentations, creating fancy backgrounds, and so much more that it would be impossible to list all of the reasons here. Since there are many people who cannot design graphics by hand as they do not possess artistic capabilities, software has been created to make photo art a synch. There is much competition between brands which makes it hard to choose. But to make things easier, let's examine the top two photo art software that are widely used-Photo Shop and the Gimp-and se how the Gimp has totally outdone Photo Shop by a long shot.

Photo Shop is a well known photo art software that is manufactured by Adobe and has been around for quite some time. Several use it for their illustration needs. What's more, it is free as it usually can be downloaded in software bundles. Because it is easy to use, countless people work with it to make their creations come to life. Nevertheless, when they discover the many benefits that the Gimp has to offer, they'll be leaving Photo Shop in the dust!

The Gimp is by far the best image manipulation program that there is as it is compatible with any operating system and much easier to use than Photo Shop. Like Photo Shop, this program is used for touching up images, image composition, and image authoring. The program costs nothing at all, and it is open source which means that anyone with knowledge of software development can create various features for all to use. Also, anyone is free to test out new releases before they are actually seen by the public by obtaining the code from their FTP client. This is not so with Photo Shop.

Another thing that sets the Gimp apart from it's competitors is that an array of plug-ins are within easy reach to enhance the quality of the illustrations as well as make the software easier to use. These plug-ins are created by passionate users who have the interest of the public in mind and who want to make the experience enjoyable for all.

Though the Gimp is fabulous in many ways and forcing Photo Shop to compete for clients, there is some occasional instability in the software. For example, some bugs crop up here and there sometimes causing frustration. Nonetheless, new versions are quickly released to rectify the problem. Before they are released, anyone is free to test things out and provide input before it is distributed to the public as a whole.

The reputation of the Gimp is growing with leaps and bounds. As several catch onto how great the software is and discover how they too can have a part in enhancing it, they'll be forsaking Photo Shop! The Gimp has already transformed photo art as it has added a whole new spin on working with photo art.
